As its meaning in Chinese, Chuhuo is place where natural gas leaks to the surface and ignites. Belonging to Kenting shale, Chuhuo contains many fissures. The best time to visit here is in dry winter since the fissures are often blocked by mud during wet summer.

Take plane to Kaohsiung Int’l Airport, and then take Zhongnan Bus/Kaohsiung Bus- Kenting route to Hengchun. Chuhuo is about 5 minutes/3 km away from the East Gate.
By Train:
1.Take train to Kaohsiung Railway Station, and then take Kaohsiung Bus/Zhongnan Bus- Kenting or Eluanbi Route to Hengchun. Chuhuo is about 5 minutes/3 km away from the East Gate.
2. Take train to Pingtung Railway Station, and then take Pingtung Bus – Hengchun route to Hengchun. Chuhuo is about 5 minutes/3 km away from the East Gate (恆春東門).
