Dongyin Lighthouse is located on the northeast of Dongyin Island. It is classified as class three national historical sites. Built in late 19th century Qing Dynasty by British engineers due to the Qing government opened several ports and need a lighthouse to guide the ships. The locals called the lighthouse as Dongyin Villa due to its English architectural style. Under the lighthouse are two fog cannons, and a newly added foghorn to navigation during fog season.The light from the lighthouse can go up to 30 miles; it is one of the most important lighthouses at the north of Taiwan. Inside the lighthouse, it has 54 concrete steps, and 9 metal steps. From the top you can see the Fu Chen village and the rest of island.
 

Directions:

Air:
From Taipei International Airport fly to Nangan on Uni Air. Then take the ferry from Fu'ao Harbor to Dongyin Meng'ao Harbor.

Sea:
The Taima Ferry offers daily service from Keelung Harbor in Taiwan to Fu'ao Harbor in Nangan and Zhongzhu Harbor in Dongyin.

Nangan and Beigan have public bus service, and taxis can be found at major harbors. Taxi prices should be negotiated in advance.
