2013 Hualien Hot Air Balloon Festival will be held at Hualien Danongdafu Forest Park from
2013/06/22 to 2013/09/01. 15 hot air balloons will be launched on the opening ceremony of 2013 Hualien Hot Air Balloon Festival on June 22nd 2013, along with performances of paragliding, light planes, and remote control aircrafts.

2013 Kaohsiung Hot Air Balloon Festival

This summer 2013, Taiwan has prepared 3 hot air balloon festivals in both east and west Taiwan, together in bringing you an unforgettable summer holiday. Hualien, Kaohsiung and Taitung are ready to launch hot air balloons, dotting the skies with hot air balloons in bright colors and distinctive shapes.
Kaohsiung will be hosting its first hot air balloon festival at Kaohsiung Cheng Ching Lake Scenic Area from 2013/07/06-2013/08/11. Cheng Ching Lake Scenic Area is located in Niaosong District of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, comprised of Kaohsiung’s largest manmade lake-Cheng Ching Lake which was developed originally as a reservoir to meet the industrial demand for water that draws water from the Kaoping River. Cheng Ching Lake Scenic Area is famed for its tranquil beauties, the Bridge of Nine Turns built in 1960 which measures 230 meters in length by 2.5 meters wide that includes nine right angled turns, and Jhongsing Pagoda that stands 43 meters high which offers good views of the surroundings from the top.
